Getting Started with SkillsPad API Keys

With the Business plan and above, you can generate API keys to programmatically access your SkillsPad data. Use them to build custom dashboards, sync with your CRM, automate workflows, or connect with tools like Zapier.

Step 1: Open API Settings
Navigate to API key management
- ✓Go to /dashboard/settings and click the 'Integrations' tab
- ✓Scroll down to 'API Access'
- ✓Click '+ New API Key'

Step 2: Create a Key
Name your key and choose permissions
- ✓Enter a name (e.g., 'Zapier Integration', 'My Website')
- ✓Select the permissions you need: Read Products, Write Products, Read Orders, Read Customers, Read Analytics
- ✓Click 'Create Key'

Step 3: Copy Your Key
Save the key securely — it's only shown once
- ✓Copy the API key immediately (it starts with sk_live_)
- ✓Store it securely — you won't be able to see it again
- ✓Use it in your Authorization header: 'Bearer sk_live_your_key'
API keys give you full programmatic access to your SkillsPad data. Create your first key at Settings > Integrations > API Access.
Tips for Success
- You can create up to 5 API keys with different scopes
- Never expose API keys in client-side code or public repos
- Revoke compromised keys immediately from the settings page
- Use the minimum scopes needed for each integration
